Who:
- Bride & Groom
- Maid of Honor (+1)
- Matrons of Honor (+1 for each)
- Best Man (+1)
- Groomsmen (+1 for each)
- Ushers (+1 for each)
- Both sets of parents
- Brothers and sisters (+1 for each)
- Both sets of grandparents (optional)
- Aunts/uncles/cousins (optional)
- Some or all out-of-town guests (optional)
What:
- Rehearse ceremony
- Dinner (groom’s cake can be served for dessert)
- Thank everyone
- Toast your parents
- Give special gifts to your parents and the wedding party
- Others may toast you as well
When:
- Usually the night before your big day (may need to be earlier due to availability of the ceremony facility/venue)
Where:
- Rehearsal is usually at the location of the ceremony
- Dinner is usually at a restaurant, and can be as formal or informal as you’d like
Why:
- Everyone practices their role in the ceremony
- Families get to know each other better
- Special thanks, toasts and gifts are shared
How:
- The way you invite your guests can be as formal or informal as you’d like
- Be sure to email your best man, groomsmen and any ushers with the location and time of rehearsal and rehearsal dinner
